 In the News

- A Series?

I went to the courthouse and acquired a map of my county. I'm marking down all the neat places (missile silos, abandoned buildings, etc.) that my family rents/owns or I can get away with photographing. Oh boy, it'll be good times!

- Valentine's Day Shoot

My fiancee and I went and took some photos yesterday. We went to three different abandoned missile silos and an abandoned house. I took photos at one of the silos and the house. The house was out in the middle of a field, and I ran from the road to the house. Because I'm somewhat out of shape, I was winded and breathing heavily both when I reached the house and when I returned to the road, so my throat hurts today.

- Industry, Abandonment and Other HDR Subjects

I've noticed a trend around here. All of the HDR photographers that have the really cool photos of industrial sites, abandoned hospitals, military barracks, and the like, are all natives of Poland... or Denmark... or Germany or one of those places. I hate living in a country that isn't in shambles, defined by its ruins and decay.

By the way, I wasn't entirely serious there. I can see a lot of Polish folks becoming really upset because some stupid American kid is either poking fun at their country or isn't appreciating what he has. Fear not ladies and gentlemen. I have a full appreciation for the United States of America. I would love to visit some of those places you guys submit photos of. Of course I have no idea what your country really looks like. I just assume that because all of the cool photos I find are of abandoned or condemned structures that the whole country looks the same.

- Highlights [02.13.2008]

In just a few days' time I managed to buy a sub to dA, reverse engineer a CSS journal layout by *Aapis and make it more to my liking, get a hold of a copy of Photomatrix Pro (a lovely piece of software for any of you that haven't had the pleasure of using it), and upload several deviations.
